The Great Green March is seeking a Director of Development. This position is a paid position upon completion of first targets.

As the manager of our Development Team, you will have direct responsibility over the following areas:

  • Endorsement-donations
  • House parties (cocktail parties)
  • Marcher recruitment
  • Fundraising events
  • Grant writing
  • Canvassing
  • Webinars
  • And other campaigns

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years full-time professional experience in fundraising or related areas
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated interpersonal relationship skills
  • Effective organizational and marketing skills
  • Familiarity with data-base computer systems and modern computer applications
  • Willingness to travel and work odd hours and weekends

The March Recruiter will be responsible for orientation, registration, coordination and organizing recruits who want to join the March. Seeking a self-motivated, energetic person with public speaking skills and an affinity with Word and Excel. Part sales experience, charisma, PR and administration. Experience with organizing benefits, walks, bicycle tours or other fundraising events desired. Knowledge of forms and releases the project may need and the ability to create them.

The Green City Logistics Planner will help us identify all of the components that are involved in the building of our city. The Logistics Planner will work creatively with the core team to compose the different aspects of the Green City, and then work to assess the costs of those items. We are looking for someone who can anticipate all of our logistical needs for our moving Green City. An affinity with Excel and Word is necessary, as is some level of budgetary-financial experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience organizing the logistical side of festivals or other similar events. Prior experience in aspects of sustainable methods, green-building, green-festivals, and alternative transportation methods, is highly recommended.

We are currently looking for a Route and Logistics Manager. The Route and Logistics Manager will report directly to the Co-Directors. This position will be an integral part of the Core Team responsible for managing the assistant route planners with collecting vital route information such as: walking maps, cycling maps, distance calculations, weather maps, nation-wide festival activities and so forth.  Excellent managerial skills, experience with festival or event planning and logistics required.

Position may include networking, data mining, nation-wide site coordination.

As the Route and Logistics Manager you should be good at Excel.  A knack for knowing where to look to find information will be critical to your success.

The Great Green March is seeking a business savvy individual to be our Financial Controller. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for setting, establishing and monitoring budgets across several different departments.

You should be experienced with large multi-million dollar budgets and large scale event productions. This is a core position that will work closely with the steering committee and board. Experience with financial tools such as excel and/or online budgetary monitory tools required.

As the Creative Concepts / Copy Writer, you will be responsible for the development of our campaign, concepts, and its translation into written form. You will work closely with our other Copy Writers, Art Director, Marketing and Co-Directors as part of this process. You should be familiar with the writing of copy for the web, print materials, and other diverse medias. Proven experience working on creative concepts, campaigns and copy writing encouraged. The National Site Coordinator will be responsible for tracking all of the important events occurring in the next 18 months across the nation. The Site Coordinator shall be our liaison to building strong connections with people and organizations from coast-to-coast. This position will manage our liaison for the local outreach offices in more than half the states across the nation. Some additional duties that may become natural extensions include: determining ideal sites for our Green City to be situated, and obtaining the necessary permits and support from local officials. You should have excellent communication skills and resonate deeply with our project.

We need a Project Manager for our team.
As the Project Manager you should be well experienced in at least two of the following areas:

  • Marketing
  • Brand / identity development
  • IT technical: Social Networking Platforms
  • Logistics / festival operations and planning
  • Non-profits in the ecological / sustainability sector
  • Legal

Candidates should express a passionate interest in our project and a willingness to "own" multiple facets of our project's production. You will be working closely with the Directors on this project, running the planning and execution of one or more sub-teams. Ability as well as a willingness to be "hands-on" encouraged, as there are times when we will have to do tasks while waiting for the team to expand.

The Great Green March is looking for an avid Public Relations Representative to help us with outreach, networking, first-contacts and presentations. You should have excellent communication and presentation skills, be energetic, passionate, and match closely our mission and ethics. The ideal Public Relations Representative will be proactive, attentive and creative in their function. You should be willing to go to seminars, conferences and other events to promote and/or network for our project. Public speaking skills are advantagious.

The Great Green March is working towards becoming tightly connected with all of the major online social networks. We need the help of a person with online Social Networking experience to drive this vital connection. You will be working with us to develop our necessary priorities, do research, and connect our project with the online community at large through networking, researching, writing, blogging, etc. to connect with other groups and individuals.

As a member of the marketing team you will be working with a group of good people focusing on helping our project be successful.

The Great Green March is looking for an avid Relations Networker to help us with outreach, networking, create partnerships, first-contacts and endorsements. You should have excellent communication and presentation skills, be energetic, passionate, and match harmoniously with our mission and ethics. The ideal Partnerships and Endorsements Specialist will be good at writing, researching, bridge building, and charismatic.

You should be the kind of person who can figure out the different inroads to specific people we want to reach, and then strategize resources in multiple directions in order to reach the person in question. You should be willing to go to seminars, conferences and other events to promote and/or network for our project. Public speaking skills are an advantage, as is an affinity with technological communication tools.

The Great Green March is looking for candidates with strong sponsorship acquisition experience. You will be responsible for managing and contacting many potential sponsors. Your goal will be to secure partnerships, funding and good relations with people, organizations and companies. Some aspects of sales required, although the emphasis is more on the development of partnerships, and the development mutually beneficial creative solutions.

We are seeking people who have passion, creative thinking, and good composure. You are someone who is organized, bright, green minded and ecologically attuned.

Priority given to candidates who have prior experience successfully obtaining sponsorship funding for prior projects, especially in the field of tours, non-profits and ecology.

We are looking for more junior and senior Marketing Specialist enthusiasts to join our rapidly growing team. We are especially interested in someone who has experience in one or more of the following areas:

The Great Green March is seeking a person, or a team, to be our eyes and ears. As the News Crew, you will be responsible for strategizing, scripting, filming, editing and then publishing video clips of us, our project, and our cause to the internet. You should be energetic, passionate, sharp, critical, methodical and creative. Preferably you will own and have your own video related equipment. You will be the kind of person who can come up with a plan, within a certain style that we mutually develop, and who can then work independently on setting up interviews / filming with the necessary places and people on your own schedule.

Candidate will have enough time available to produce at least one short video-blog a month; and preferably two as the project develops further. This position may start as a one-person gig, and then develop into a team of several people as time progresses and our staff size grows.

Candidate must reside in or within a reasonable distance of Portland, OR. Preference given to candidates with journalism and/or film experience. Sample materials encouraged.

We are currently looking for an Assistant Route Planner to help us on the project. As the Assistant Route Planner you will be helping us collect vital route information such as: walking maps, cycling maps, distance calculations, weather maps, nation-wide festival activities and so forth.

The Great Green March is looking for an enthusiastic, organized Event Coordinator to promote the March presence at ongoing events and to create our own promotional events.  Our events range from monthly public open house informational meetings to benefit concerts, dinners, and more.

Skills in networking, PR, event planning and setting up booths all recommended. Coordination required with our Marketing, Fundraising, Recruiting and Art departments. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and able to work independently as well as on teams.

The Great Green March is looking for a high quality Information Architect who shares our passion. The final-phase of our website will be a fully integrated, social networking, facebook connected, live video blogging, interactive maps, web 2.0 experience. As the Information Architect you should be experienced at developing the user experience, interface and site-flow for complex interactive projects. You should be able to comfortably navigate the world of wireframes, use cases, UML diagrams and function as a knowledgeable stronghold between design and technical development. It is highly advantageous if you are also privy to the writing of Functional Specifications.

The Great Green March is looking for a Website Developer who shares our passion. This position will be an integral part of the core development team. The final-phase of our website will be a fully integrated, social networking, facebook connected, live video blogging, interactive maps, web 2.0 experience website. As the web developer you should be experienced with one or more of the following areas:

  •    Javascript

The Web developer will work directly with the project manager toward building the various phases of our social networking site.

The Great Green March is seeking a qualified web designer for the development of our website. You should be very adapt at translating wireframes, IA and functional specifications into visual representation. You should be methodical, strive for less-is-more and know the basic theory behind good web design principles. Your artistic style should match and merge well with our vision, and you should be well experienced in the common web design application-tools; such as one or more of: photo shop, illustrator, and/or fireworks. As the designer, you will also be expected to review the development of your designs into web pages and to ensure that your designs are well translated. As a bridge between the IA and the technical world, you should be able to work closely with the Art Director, Illustrators, IA and technical teams. You should be aware of the technical limitations and capabilities that your designs will imply.

Other skills such as Flash, Illustration, Photographic manipulation would be welcome, this position can also grow to include other duties.

The Great Green March is seeking a qualified Artist / Illustrator for the development of materials, T-Shirts and artistic interpretations of Green City. It is beneficial if you are computer savvy, but not required. You should be able to take creative direction, and to then make something beautiful in return for us to use to promote the cause.
