Jackie Jaffe grew up in NYC and is the Principal at the Portland Village School. She has been a SUN program coordinator, taught in private, public, and charter elementary schools. She holds a Masters in Education from University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and a BA in Fine Arts (Photography) from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She has always been an activist for social change; she was on the steering committee for a Green Party state representative for two campaigns, taught classes on leadership in prison and volunteered at as an intake counselor at a social service agency.
